Research Highlight


Assessment of climate models in relation to the low‐level clouds over the southern Indian Ocean

This study brings out the fidelity of CMIP5 models and a suite of CFSv2 model in simulating the Marine Boundary Layer (MBL) clouds in the southern Indian ocean (SIO) and also the transition from low to deep clouds across the latitudes. The study demonstrates that improvement of cloud parameterization can reduce the bias of simulating low level MBL clouds over SIO region.
