This Institute (IITM, Pune) is observing the Swachhata Pakwada as per the directions from MoES and Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Govt. of India.
The first day event (1st July, 2019), IITM, Pune in collaboration with Nisarg, NGO (who are working for plastic free environment) has interacted with Palakhis Warkari on their way from Pune to Pandharpur and distributed cloth bags (400 Nos.) on account of Swachhta Pakwada. The Palakhis tradition is more than 700 to 800 years old and it is a one of the major festival celebrated in Maharashtra, with a participation of around four lakhs people across the state.
The Second day (2nd July 2019), on account of Swachhata Pakhwada, a pledge was taken by the Director and all employees of the Institute.
